1)what is the currrent through a capacitor?

Note: in betweeen the two capacitor plates there is large insulator(Dielectric) which doesnt allow current
to pass through it.then how current flows through capacitor?

  1. i think there is a polarization effect in the capacitor when large field applied. actually the current in C is not conduction current that means not through flow of electrons.that current called displcement current..

i have to post one question is capacitor stores energy? if stores in which form and how? explain this.

  2. yes.capacitor stores energy in the form of electric field.where as inductor stores energy in the form of magnetic field

  3. Capacitor could store energy, but it does not act as a battery. The current through a capacitor is basically dependent on the temperature of operation. And an AC current could flow through a capacitor. That is the reason its called a ripple remover, it does not take in the offset but lets the ripple pass through it. You could observe this in any non-isolated Bi-Directional converters like Buck-Boost and Cuk.
